Giving Back
Involvement in professional and community organizations is vital to DJG's continued success. Through involvement, as a firm and individuals, we are aware of and impact the advances and changes taking place around us. In addition, it is our opportunity to give something back to those organizations that have contributed to our professional and personal growth along the way.
The Rest Area, which reopened April 26, 2007, has achieved a LEED Gold rating. Kerry Herr PE, LEED AP, served as the LEED / sustainable design coordinator. Rebecca Aarons-Sydnor, Project Manager at Sustainable Design Consulting in Richmond, served as VDOT's LEED representative. The facility was designed by DJG Inc. and built by David A. Nice Builders Inc., both of Williamsburg.
USO Adopt-a-Family Program
DJG was honored to be a part of the USO Adopt-a-Family program this past holiday season. We were excited to be able to help a military family by donating good, toys and much more.
The USO of Hampton Roads served 118 military families (495 people) with the help of 53 other donors this past season.
2007 Costumes for a Cure
This year, during the 2007 Costume for a Cure on Halloween, DJG raised more than $300 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Congratulations to John "Mikhail Gorbachev" Ozmore who earned the most votes for Best Costume.
