York County, VA

Situated in the historic village of Yorktown, the Yorktown Pier served County residents and cruise vessels until major storm damage by Hurricane Isabel in September 2003 destroyed portions of the pier beyond repair
The 400’ long pier extends into the York River and is located near Cornwallis’ Cave
DJG prepared a study and structural evaluation of the pier, and plan for repair design of the pier, replacing bracing members and stringers, and using the existing piles
The existing dolphin for docking was removed, and a T-platform added at the end of the pier for community fishing
