Powhatan Fire Station Company #1

Powhatan County evaluated its immediate, short-term, and long-term facility needs and identified a much-needed addition to the existing Fire Station Company #1. DJG provided programming and planning services to help define the appropriate size and configuration of the addition while addressing site limitations, operational requirements, and budget constraints. The new addition is designed to enhance comfort, functionality, and readiness for station personnel. Planned improvements include 10 individual bunk rooms, three unisex bathrooms, locker space for 40 personnel, and two publicly accessible restrooms. The design also expands the station’s kitchen, dining, and food-storage areas and provides larger dayroom and fitness spaces, creating a more efficient facility that supports both current operations and the County’s long-term needs.
